Kargil Vijay Diwas 2023: Date, History, Importance and Significance

Kargil Vijay Diwas commemorates India's victory against Pakistani militants who infiltrated into Kargil, Kashmir, in 1999, leading to an armed conflict between the two countries. After nearly three months of fighting, Indian forces regained control of the contested territories, and the war ended on July 26, 1999.
