NEET, JEE Main, OJEE: here students of government school will get reservation in engineering and medical colleges
The Odisha government has decided to provide reservation in the engineering and medical colleges of the state to the students of its government schools. To encourage the children of the state government-run schools to pass the engineering and medical entrance exam, some seats in engineering and medical colleges will be reserved for them. The proposal was approved in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. School Education Minister SR Dash said that students of schools run by the state government will get quota in medical and engineering colleges from next academic session. The minister said that the purpose of this reservation is to encourage those students from rural areas who are deprived of the benefits of coaching and digital courses available in cities. In the absence of study facilities, students from rural areas are not able to compete with urban students in competitive examinations.
