Microsoft to discontinue this service on Mac, here’s what it means for users

Microsoft has announced that it will discontinue Visual Studio for Mac IDE, with the latest version being supported for another 12 months until August 31, 2024. However, the IDE will continue to receive updates for bug fixes and security issues until next year. Microsoft is redirecting its resources to enhance Visual Studio and VS Code for cross-platform development. Alternatives suggested include using Visual Studio Code with the new C# Dev Kit, running the Visual Studio IDE on a Windows virtual machine, or using Visual Studio IDE in the Cloud.
