Google may ‘kill’ this Maps feature on Android in 2024

Google announced the shutdown of Assistant Driving Mode in 2020, replacing it with Android Auto. However, users saw it as a downgrade. Now, Google Maps' Driving Mode is also expected to go away in February 2024, according to code strings in the latest Google app version 14.52. Driving Mode can be accessed during navigation and offers quick access to Assistant, Google Maps, and compatible music apps. With the removal of Assistant Driving Mode, users may be directed to use Google Maps navigation with voice commands.
