Apple Vision Pro headset may get multiple optimised third-party apps: What are they

Apple is set to launch the Vision Pro, its first AR/VR headset, in the US on February 2. The mixed reality headset is already available for pre-orders and has over 250 apps with native support for visionOS. Developers will be able to take advantage of spatial design elements and offer immersive features. Popular third-party apps like Zoom, Telegram, and Webex will also support VisionOS. Microsoft will offer native visionOS apps such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams. Over one million apps will be available for the headset at launch, including entertainment apps like Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video.

Why Apple rejected DuckDuckGo, and kept Google search on iPhones

Apple held discussions with DuckDuckGo to potentially replace Google as the default search engine for private browsing mode on Safari, according to unsealed court transcripts. DuckDuckGo CEO Gabriel Weinberg stated that they had multiple meetings with Apple executives to discuss the possibility. However, Apple executive John Giannandrea testified that to his knowledge, Apple had not considered the switch. Giannandrea expressed concerns about DuckDuckGo's reliance on Bing for search information, which potentially compromises user privacy.
