Amidst a heat wave-like situation in Jharkhand, the state government has adjusted school timings effective April 22 until further notice. Under the new schedule, schools for kindergarten to class 8 will operate from 7 am to 11.30 am, while senior classes from 9 to 12 will continue till noon. The directive applies to all government, aided, unaided, and private schools. Outdoor activities under the sun, including prayer meetings and sports, are prohibited during this period, although mid-day meals will still be provided. The Meteorological department has issued a heat wave alert for 15 districts, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius.
