Former Connecticut budget official convicted of extorting school construction contractors

Former Connecticut official Konstantinos “Kosta” Diamantis has been convicted of extorting contractors while overseeing state-funded school construction projects. Found guilty on over 20 federal counts, Diamantis faces sentencing in January 2026.
