IBM will acquire German software company Software AG's enterprise technology platforms for $2.33 billion to enhance its AI and hybrid cloud offerings. The platforms, StreamSets and webMethods, provide application integration, API management, and data integration. StreamSets enables data ingestion for training AI systems, while webMethods helps manage application planning interfaces. The acquisition will strengthen IBM's Watsonx AI and data platform and provide clients with additional integration and API management tools for hybrid multi-cloud environments. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed in Q2 2024.
